Run Automated Load Testing Tools
Running a website speed test and load testing are not the same thing. People frequently mix up the two.
Website Speed Test
The response times of PHP (which includes MySQL + PHP) are frequently measured in a website speed test. Or, to put it another way, the entire time it takes for a page to load. Most people do this with Pingdom or GTmetrix, and compare the HTML render/wait time to their current host. So you may sign up with us and have your site hosted on a subdomain like xyz.kinsta.com, then compare it to your live site.
Take a look at our list of popular website speed test tools.
Load testing is different from speed testing in that it is used to replicate specific scenarios, such as a large rush of traffic or a specific number of concurrent users. Automated load testing tools aren’t perfect, unfortunately. If your load test does not represent genuine user scenarios from the real world, you will almost certainly come to incorrect results. For a reliable load test, use this checklist.
We partner with firms like Review Signal that do testing like this on WordPress hosting, and you can see comparisons of us versus others in the industry there. They do the tests correctly and have the procedure down to an art. If you wish to execute a load test on our platform, please contact our support staff first.
