How do I renew my domain registration?

Renew my domain

Overview

Domain registrations are not automatically renewed by default. Unlike hosting plans, which are automatically renewed, this is not the case. This guide will walk you through the process of renewing your GreggHost-registered domains.

Domains that are known as ‘Auto-Renew Only’ domains include:

What is the process for renewing and charging Auto-Renew my domains?

Option #1: Setting your domain to auto-renew

You may set your domain registration to renew automatically in your control panel under Registrations:

This column for your domain registration can be found in the far right corner of the Registrations page. Because the word ‘YES’ is bold in the image above, the auto-renewal option is already selected. To change the other status, click the other links.

The yes link activates the domain’s auto-renewal feature. The letters are still delivered, but they specify that the domain will be automatically renewed when it expires, and that the charge for that automatic renewal would be applied to your account rather than requiring payment up front.
The let expire link causes the name to expire on its expiration date, although notices will still be sent out in accordance with ICANN’s policy for notifying the registration owner of this information.
The ask link will send you notices asking if you want to renew your subscription. When clicking the Renew! button for that domain on the Registrations page, manual renewals need payment in advance.
Even if your domain is configured to ‘let expire,’ notices for its expiration are still issued regardless of how you set up the renewal procedure. GreggHost begins sending you notices of the domain’s expiration 5 weeks before the date of expiration, along with instructions on how to renew my domain  if you choose.

The renewal is processed for free in the image above, as it indicates a $0.00 fee. The domain is renewed in 30 minutes after clicking the Renew! button.

You can renew the domain for many years by selecting it from the drop-down menu. GreggHost, on the other hand, only offers a 2-year renewal for any domain name.

Option #2: Manually renewing a domain

You must settle any outstanding account balance or suspension before you may purchase, renew, or transfer-in a domain registration if your GreggHost panel access is prohibited owing to a past-due amount or account suspension.

To manually renew your domain name, follow these steps:

Go to the Registrations page for further information.

To renew a domain name, click the Renew! button to the right of the name you want to renew.
The domain and renewal price are displayed on the following pages.
button “Register Now”
It’s possible that the renewal price will reflect as $0.00. This action must be completed in order to renew the domain registration.

Select Register Domain(s) Now from the drop-down menu.
Multiple domains cannot be renewed at the same time at this time.

Purchasing a domain
If the cost of renewing a registration rises after you receive a renewal notice, GreggHost will honor the pricing indicated in the notice. For example, if your renewal was quoted at $9.99 per year and then increased to $11.99 per year, GreggHost will continue to bill you at $9.99 per year.

The cost of the registration renewal is indicated in the drop-down option in the screenshot above if you owe anything. For manual renewals, this fee must be paid in advance. Your account will be debited automatically for auto-renewals.
