WordPress Multisite

WordPress multisite setups are supported on our Pro and higher plans. If you’re on our Starter plan and want to use multisite, you’ll need to upgrade.

Because these types of sites are often more resource-intensive and require additional assistance, we don’t allow multisite on our Starter plan. In a multisite network, all subsites share the same WordPress database and installation, which means that a single installation can host dozens of sites.

If you want to transfer an existing site from single-site to multisite mode, you should expect to work with an experienced WordPress developer because setting up multisite effectively is hard and takes specific attention.

If you choose a subdirectory multisite after building a subdomain multisite, the Kinsta support staff will need to create a rule for it to perform properly.
